| Usage |
1. Used as acidulant for refreshing drinks and food, color retainer for fruit drinks, preservative (emulsifier stabilizer for mayonnaise, etc.).
2. Used in medicines, cosmetics, tooth cleaning liquid, metal cleaning agent, buffer, anticoagulant for textile industry, industrial deodorant, raw material for fluorescent whitening agent for polyester fiber, and monomer for making alkyd resin, etc. 3. When used as flavor enhancer, flavoring agent, auxiliary drug and pH control agent, the United States stipulates that it shall not exceed 6.9% in hard candy and about 6.7% in other foods, but both types of malic acid shall not be used in baby food. |
