Product Description

 

Sodium formate is a white water-absorbing powder or crystal with a slight odor. It is soluble in water and glycerin, slightly soluble in ethanol, and insoluble in ether. It is toxic. It can be used to produce, oxalic acid, formamide and hydrosulfite, as a disguised acid in the leather industry and chrome tanning process, and as a catalyst.

Application

Mainly used in the production of  oxalic acid and hydrosulfite, etc. Used as a reagent for the determination of phosphorus, disinfectant and mordant, preservative.

An intermediate for the production of formic and oxalic acid, and also used in the production of dimethylformamide, etc.

Also used in the pharmaceutical and printing and dyeing industries. It is also a precipitant for heavy metals.

Precipitate precious metals and form trivalent metal complex ions in the solution. It has a buffering effect and can correct the pH value of strong mineral acids to a higher level.

Used as a reducing agent; used to precipitate precious metals; can form trivalent metal complex ions in the solution; buffering effect, can correct the pH value of strong mineral acids, reducing agent.

Used in alkyd resin coatings, plasticizers, high explosives, acid-resistant materials, aviation lubricants, and adhesive additives.
