Product Description
Hydroxyethyl cellulose (HEC), chemical formula (C2H6O2)n, is a white or light yellow, odorless, non-toxic fibrous or powdered solid, prepared by etherification reaction of alkaline cellulose and ethylene oxide (or chloroethanol), and is a non-ionic soluble cellulose ether. Due to its good thickening, suspension, dispersion, emulsification, adhesion, film formation, moisture protection and protective colloid properties, HEC has been widely used in oil extraction, coatings, construction, medicine and food, textiles, papermaking, and polymer polymerization.

Application
1. Generally used as thickener, protective agent, adhesive, stabilizer, and additive for preparing emulsions, gels, ointments, lotions, eye cleaners, suppositories and tablets. It is also used as hydrophilic gel, skeleton material, and skeleton-type sustained-release preparations. It can also be used as a stabilizer in food.
2. Used as sizing agent in the textile industry, bonding, thickening, emulsification, stabilization and other auxiliary agents in the electronics and light industry sectors.
3. Used as thickener and filtration reducer for water-based drilling fluid and completion fluid, with obvious thickening effect in salt water drilling fluid. It can also be used as a filtration reducer for oil well cement. It can be cross-linked with multivalent metal ions to form a gel.
4. This product is used for water-based gel fracturing fluid for fracturing petroleum, and dispersant for polymerization of polystyrene and polyvinyl chloride. It can also be used as a latex thickener in the paint industry, a hygroscopic resistor in the electronics industry, and a cement retardant and moisture retainer in the construction industry. Glazing and toothpaste adhesive in the ceramic industry. It is also widely used in printing and dyeing, textiles, papermaking, medicine, sanitation, food, cigarettes, pesticides and fire extinguishing agents.
5. As a surfactant, colloid protective agent, emulsifier stabilizer for vinyl chloride, vinyl acetate and other emulsions, as well as thickener, dispersant, dispersion stabilizer for latex. It is widely used in coatings, fibers, dyeing, papermaking, cosmetics, medicine, pesticides and other aspects. It also has many uses in the oil extraction and machinery industries.
6. Hydroxyethyl cellulose has surface activity, thickening, suspension, adhesion, emulsification, film formation, dispersion, water retention and protection in solid and liquid pharmaceutical preparations.
7. Dispersant for the extraction of water-based gel fracturing fluids, polyvinyl chloride and polystyrene polymers. It can also be used as a latex thickener in the paint industry, a cement retarder and moisture retainer in the construction industry, and a glazing agent and toothpaste adhesive in the ceramic industry. It is also widely used in industrial fields such as printing and dyeing, textiles, papermaking, medicine, sanitation, food, cigarettes and pesticides.
